Diriyah

About

Museum within Salwa Palace at At-Turaif in Diriyah, presenting the political and architectural history of the First Saudi State at its UNESCO-listed mudbrick capital on the edge of Riyadh.

Salwa Palace was the seat of the founders of the First Saudi State at At-Turaif, and is the largest building complex in the UNESCO-listed mudbrick district on the edge of Riyadh. As part of the Diriyah Gate visitor programme it now hosts museum displays on the political history of the First Saudi State, the rise of Diriyah as its capital, the daily life of the ruling family, and the conservation work that has reopened the district. Galleries are integrated into restored palace rooms and courtyards rather than presented as a separate building.
