Murabba Palace (Qasr Al Murabba)

Riyadh

About

The historic seat of King Abdulaziz in central Riyadh, a large mud-brick palace complex preserved as part of the King Abdulaziz Historical Center.

Murabba Palace was built in the late 1930s as the residence and seat of government for King Abdulaziz, founder of the modern Kingdom. The square mud-brick complex stands within the King Abdulaziz Historical Center, alongside the National Museum and other heritage buildings.

Visitors can walk through restored reception halls, private quarters, and courtyards that illustrate the architecture, materials, and daily life of mid-twentieth-century Riyadh. The palace is a quiet, atmospheric counterpart to the National Museum next door, and an essential stop for understanding the city’s recent history.
