Shubra Palace Museum, Taif
Taif
About
Historic palace in Taif built in distinctive Hejazi style with imported marble and ornate woodwork, now operating as a regional museum with displays on local history and royal residence.
Shubra Palace is one of the most distinctive historic buildings in Taif, combining Hejazi mountain architecture with a four-storey design, imported marble, and richly carved wooden balconies. Built in the early twentieth century, it later served as a royal summer residence during visits to Taif before being converted into a regional museum. Today its galleries present archaeological material, ethnographic displays on Hejazi mountain life, and rooms connected to the building's royal use. The palace also functions as the main heritage anchor for visitors to Taif's old town and surrounding mountain villages.
