AlUla
About
Regional museum in AlUla introducing the long archaeology of the AlUla valley, from the kingdoms of Dadan and Lihyan through Nabataean Hegra to the historic mudbrick old town.
The AlUla Museum introduces visitors to the long human story of the AlUla valley in the Madinah region. Displays trace the pre-Islamic kingdoms of Dadan and Lihyan with their distinctive monumental tombs and inscriptions, the Nabataean city of Hegra (Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Islamic-era routes that ran through the valley, and the historic mudbrick old town that anchors the modern visitor district. The museum is part of a wider AlUla cultural programme that also includes Hegra and other heritage and arts sites in the valley.
