Najran

An editorial orientation to Najran Province in the far south, combining the regional museum, traditional mud-brick architecture and the UNESCO-listed Ḥimā cultural area.

Najran, in the far south of the Kingdom near the Yemeni border, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited regions of the Arabian Peninsula. A cultural visit naturally combines Najran Regional Museum, the distinctive mud-brick tower houses of the old districts, and trips to the UNESCO-listed Ḥimā cultural area with its thousands of years of rock art and inscriptions.

The wider region is also known for its agricultural heritage and traditional crafts. This guide is an editorial orientation to the destination as a whole.
