About

A UNESCO World Heritage Site north of Najran with one of the most important rock art and inscription complexes in Arabia along ancient caravan routes.

Ḥimā, north of the city of Najran, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2021 for its exceptional concentration of rock art and inscriptions in many scripts. The carvings document around seven thousand years of human passage along desert caravan routes, with images of people, animals, hunting scenes, and writing in pre-Arabic and early Arabic scripts.
